I had a computer running on windows XP with Microsoft Works software, i.e. a package of word processor/spread sheet/database software which I used and had many files on. I also had a Microsoft photo manipulation package on it which I used extensively.

Sadly, the mother board started to feel its age and was so out of date it could not be replaced or upgraded. So it had got to be a new computer, but it would have to use Windows 7. Windows 7 did not want to know any of my files generated by Works, neither would it recognize the photo adjustment software!

All was not lost though as the cavalry in the form of Catalyst Computers came riding over the hill providing a new computer plus whatever IT experts do with software, at a very sensible price, and I was painlessly back in business.

Since then, having nothing much in the line of computer knowhow, I have had puzzles and queries, and a nasty attack of a piece of malware, all of which Catalyst helped me with, or "magicked" away. In other words their after sales service has looked after me very well.

Whenever I now find myself in discussions with people about computer matters I unhesitatingly tell them of Catalyst Computers. I know that Catalyst Computers have been around for many years since I bought my first computer (reconditioned) from them some 20 years ago - so long may they continue in business!

Catalyst are our key supplier of computer hardware and servicing and have been for more than twenty years. They currently look after our main servers on a yearly contract and help us with supply and service for our desktop computers.

Catalyst are for us, both local and easy to reach. This means we can deliver the equipment to them and pick it up when its ready, or they will come out to site when requested and be there very quickly. Their staff have very good levels of ability and understanding of computer technology, and their engineers always seem totally unflappable when dealing with our problems. The service is quick and inexpensive, and they are always polite and very easy to deal with.

When quoting for new equipment their prices are always competitive, yet they are undisturbed when we might choose another supplier. Their support continues unabated.

The team at Catalyst produced a thorough and very well written recommendation and competitive quote to replace our ageing and low powered server and failing network.

The new server, full cat 6 replacement network with 78+ network points, was installed over a single weekend in our offices, which dates from the Georgian period.

This was a mammoth task, with many walls up to a meter thick! This work would have tested any IT Network company but Paul Nolan and the team worked very long hours over a weekend to ensure our new server and network were up and running first thing Monday morning.

The installation is a first rate job, very neat and tidy. Catalyst engineers have worked hard and with sympathy to make sure period features of the offices were not damaged or affected in any way by the installation. Many of the cable runs were through tight roof and loft spaces and these were undertaken to protect the building.

We have had 100% up time on our new server and network. I can confidently work away from the office for any period of time now knowing the network will not fail and let me and the business down. The team’s in-depth knowledge and support is excellent, should our IT department require assistance and support with the server settings Catalyst simply login, make the required changes but also helpfully talk our technician through what they are doing every step of the way too, so we have knowledge of the issue and how it has been fixed. The level of support, service and assistance, I would say is second to none.

Catalyst always give very good, impartial advice when we require their assistance, being it specifying a new network attached media storage server, adding a new building into the network, or the installation of networked webcams, I am always very happy to listen and make informed decisions based on their guidance and recommendations.

They have been a real support to our business whilst we made the transition to higher level of technology, Catalyst have been key to my work and Rosemary Conley as a business. Their support and services have been a very trusted resource whilst I have been at Rosemary Conley. I can wholly recommend Catalyst.

Having enjoyed another successful and profitable year, it was an easy decision to ask the Catalyst Team to upgrade some of our computers, backup facilities and install new software on our systems. As a small but extremely busy International Welding Equipment supply company with the majority of enquiries being generated from our web site, our IT performance is crucial to our business.

Having worked with Catalyst for the past 4 years, we knew they already understood the manic environment they were going to have to work in and made the smooth transition for all the staff, keeping downtime to a minimum whilst completing the work.
