Alas it’s end of the line for Windows XP.
Microsoft themselves long ago abandoned support for this version of Windows. I've always thought it as "one of the best" but alas it's just become too difficult to continue to support it in a world constantly moving forward. We’ve reluctantly decided that continuing support of a product now only used by around 5% of our users is wildly uneconomic.
From January 2017 we will be supporting Windows Vista and later.
Personally I'd not recommend that particular operating system so for practical purposes Windows 7, 8 and 10 are recommended and fully supported by Platinum.
Any users still using XP beyond January 1st 2017 are best advised to upgrade Windows XP PC's. Personally I’m surprised they still work as they are wide open to viruses since Microsoft themselves abandoned support on April 8th 2014, over 2 years ago!
Windows XP PC’s served well; I’ve even got one myself sat under my desk as a foot rest. Sadly it’s time to move along. If you choose to continue using these faithful workhorses please be careful not to upgrade Platinum.
You may be able to squeeze just a little more life out of them but you won’t be able to take advantage of the many new features we release each and every month.
My sincere recommendation is to upgrade, not just for Platinum but also to be safe from the viruses that can wriggle through insecurities in XP with impunity.
