Electronic Program Updates

As a user of our software you are probably entitled to update it to the latest version at any time, the only proviso being that the software is covered by current software maintenance. To have current maintenance, the software should be within it’s original cover period from sale (usually a year), under maintenance contract or under a rental agreement.

  • We are continually refining and developing our software. Updates can be done on as much as a daily basis. We don't 'hold back' software for specific release dates - our software is released as and when it has been written and tested.

Click here for instructions on how to install your program update.

  • Keep up to date with the latest software changes with our news.

Purchase Ledger Postings

When creating an 'Invoice' with "Hold doc?" set to 'Yes', it is now possible to set the "Expiry date" and "Hold notes" for the held document.

Vehicle Option Packs

Platinum's "Model Option Packs" have been expanded and improved so they can be associated with manufacturers, with multiple models, or left non-specific so they may be sold with any vehicle.

You can set the price of individual pack items, set them to be free of charge, or leave them to pick up current pricing when loaded to Extras and Accessories as they do at present.

You will also be able to manually select option packs to add to your vehicle sales order, from the sale vehicle details or extras and accessories tab, regardless of whether the current model itself has an associated pack.

  • This update will involve a file conversion, which will run once only: the first time Platinum is used after this update. It may take some time, depending on how heavily the relevant area of the system is used, but will only be necessary the first time you use the software after this update.

Stock Associations/Components

The popups for Stock Associations and Stock Components from "Stock Properties" have been converted to Windows "GUI" format.

  • As this part of Platinum has been given the Windows look-and-feel the Home (on-line help) and End (functions) keys now work the way Windows uses them (i.e. Home goes to the beginning of whatever you are accepting and End goes to the end) so you should use the alternative help keys listed below:
    • The F11 key should be used for the on-line help.
    • The F12 key or the "Functions" menu should be used to access the function keys available.
    • Buttons have been given a shortcut key (F?) for use in Macros and anyone not wanting to use the mouse.
    • Windows may be repositioned and changed in size - these changes will be remembered from one Platinum session to another.
    • The columns in lists can be moved or resized by dragging the heading for the column you wish to configure - these changes will be remembered from one Platinum session to another.
    • Any tabs can be moved by dragging the heading for the tab to the new position - this new position will be remembered from one Platinum session to another.

Local Currency Values

It is now possible to store and amend local currency values for sales, purchase and nominal transactions. The local currency of the account needs to be stored on the account and the feature is available anywhere that the account has been selected throughout the software. As well as the individual transaction values an ongoing rolling balance is stored. The transaction and balance can be marked to reflect that it has been reconciled against third party information.

The feature is accessed from within the existing "Currency Exchange" option accessed either from the "Options" pull down or the quick key Alt+E.

Vehicle Replicator

It is now incredibly easy to replicate vehicles by copying a vehicle multiple times. You can enter the unique chassis, VIN and engine numbers for each of the vehicles to be created in a simple tabular form.

This handy tool is intended to aid users dealing in high volumes of similar vehicles and can be accessed from the "Vehicle Search" within the "Vehicle Sales" -> "Add or Edit Vehicles" option.
