Changes to Platinum's "Payroll" module that allow you to start processing the year 2016/17, including:

• Printed report P11 has been updated for the new tax year.
• Updated PAYE tax rates for 6th April.
• Added support for the new Scottish Rate of Income Tax.
• If you have an always-on Internet connection then any updates to the PAYE tax rates through the year will be downloaded automatically.

• Updated Class 1 National Insurance Contributions rates, including:

  • The addition of new category letters added for apprentices under-25.
  • The removal of old category letters for contracted-out pension schemes, which have now been abolished, plus the removal of all related parameters (ECON, SCON, contracted-out rebate pension contributions, etc).
• The system now automatically changes an employee's National Insurance category letter when they turn 16, when they turn 21, when they turn 25 (if they are using the apprentice under-25 category letter) and when they reach state retirement age (which is determined automatically from their gender and date of birth).
• Updated SSP rates.
• Updated SMP/SAP/SPP/ShPP rates.
• Updated Collection of Student Loans thresholds, including the addition of new "Plan 2" student loans.

• Operating PAYE in real time, aka Real Time Information - or RTI:

  • Full Payment Submission (FPS), which happens automatically when you close off a period, has been updated for the year 2016/17.
  • Employer Payment Summary (EPS), in "Monthly Procedures/Reports" -> "Internet Filing of Returns", has been updated for the year 2016/17 (to clarify this, the year is included in the option name).
  • If you have not yet submitted your final EPS for 2015/16 then you can still do this by selecting the "2015/16 Final submission for the year" box, or going to "Yearly Procedures/Reports" -> "Internet Filing of Returns".

• Printed report P60 has been updated for this year's stationary.

• "Monthly Procedures/Reports" -> "Internet Filing of Returns" is ready to support the final EPS for the 2015/16 year.

• Look out for the 2016/17 Year-Start update coming soon! This will allow you to move on to start processing the new payroll year, including updates to the system of operating PAYE in real time, aka Real Time Information - or RTI.

You can now print selected lines from the Order's general notes on your Sales Order Invoices, using new configuration token '~52'.

We have introduced support for icons in enabled lists.

Icons in lists are currently implemented in "Tasks Outstanding", "Personnel Planning Diary", "Order Processing" and the "Stock Search". We will be adding support to other lists going forward.

The facility to read items saved as a quotation in the "Stock Control" module, "Invoicing and Customer Orders" option, into the extras section of a "Vehicle Sales" document has been added.

This will allow your sales people to pull in lists of items set up by your parts department without having to look up all the part numbers involved.

It is now possible to add, edit and remove custom buttons that can be shown on the button bars. The "Add or Edit Custon Buttons" option can be found on the "Maintenance Options" within "Reports & Parameters".

Alternatively you can create a custom button from the location within Platinum where you want the button to appear. From the location, press "F12" to pop up the "Functions Available" screen. From there, press the new "Custom" button to pop up the "Custon Buttons Properties" and from there select the function you would like the custom button for.

You are now also prompted to create a custom button whenever you record a new macro.

Extra information has been added to the stock sales price information. The date of the last change and the previous value are now stored.

Reporting of the this extra information held is possible using the "Stock Control" "Report Generator". Additional parameters have been added to the relevant variables to access the new information.

Platinum now integrates with the Microsoft Print to PDF printer built-in to Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and above and avoids the need to install a third-party PDF printer driver.

After updating Platinum you will find three new standard print records for use on Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and above PCs:

• 'Print to PDF' - prints the document to a PDF file and shows a "Save As" box to allow you to enter or amend the file name or location to save as.

• 'Print to email' - prints the document to a PDF file and shows a "Send Email" box attaching the PDF to an email message and allowing you to enter or amend the email message before sending. Note: you must have the Catalyst "SXMail" module in order to send an email using this method.

• 'Print to email (silent)' - as above but sends the email using a standard message without prompting, useful for the Retention Centre for example.

Existing links to PDF995 and other third-party PDF printers continue to work as before, of course, but this adds another option now for those who wish to avoid installing third-party drivers.
