Electronic Program Updates

As a user of our software you are probably entitled to update it to the latest version at any time, the only proviso being that the software is covered by current software maintenance. To have current maintenance, the software should be within it’s original cover period from sale (usually a year), under maintenance contract or under a rental agreement.

  • We are continually refining and developing our software. Updates can be done on as much as a daily basis. We don't 'hold back' software for specific release dates - our software is released as and when it has been written and tested.

Platinum O+ Site Maintenance

Changes to Platinum O+ Site Maintenance to enhance your ability to manage your web shop, including:

  • Search for stock items by stock group.
  • See preview of stock items before adding them to a page.
  • Stock item sales text preview now displays embedded HTML if present.

Run Payroll

The "Run Payroll Period" option has been given the Windows "look-and-feel".

  • As this part of Platinum has been given the Windows look-and-feel the Home (on-line help) and End (functions) keys now work the way Windows uses them (i.e. Home goes to the beginning of whatever you are accepting and End goes to the end) so you should use the alternative help keys listed below:
    • The F11 key should be used for the on-line help.
    • The F12 key or the "Functions" menu should be used to access the function keys available.
    • Buttons have been given a shortcut key (F?) for use in Macros and anyone not wanting to use the mouse.
    • Windows may be repositioned and changed in size - these changes will be remembered from one Platinum session to another.
    • The columns in lists can be moved or resized by dragging the heading for the column you wish to configure - these changes will be remembered from one Platinum session to another.
    • Any tabs can be moved by dragging the heading for the tab to the new position - this new position will be remembered from one Platinum session to another.

Transferring Purchase Order Items

When transferring multiple items in one go, the system could fail to select the latest open order created today, and instead add the items to a new order.

FREE MCN Small Bikes Adverts

There is a new vehicle feed to advertise 125cc and below bikes with MCN.

  • Platinum users will be able to advertise small bikes for free on MCN until the end of December 2013.

Stock Search and Historic Items

In order to simplify searching for stock lines when raising an invoice it is now possible to prevent historic stock lines from being listed in the stock search.

  • Control of which items are considered to be historic is achieved by marking individual stock statuses as historic on the parameter tab for a given stock status.

Sales Prospecting Campaigns

The concept of Sales Campaigns has been added to "Sales Prospecting". It is now possible to maintain a list of campaigns, mark prospect contacts as associated with a campaign and to report on these contacts via the Report Generator using the variables detailed below.

Customer Retention Centre

The retention centre is designed to improve regular customer communication in a number of significant ways. It is one of the key elements in Catalyst's strategy to help our clients thrive in the current interesting financial environment.

  • Regular customer communication is now centralised. Easier to manage and totally automated. Better communication with customers will lead to higher customer retention (repeat business) and thus enhanced turnover.

    All regular customer communication can now be done from within one option. A single communication (e.g. workshop service reminders) can now be automatically sent by multiple media methods according to customer preference and possibility (SMS and E-mail only to those with a mobile phone or E-mail address recorded). Customers can be tagged with their preferred method of communication (Mail, SMS or E-mail). Accidental repeat sending of the same communication to the same customer is blocked. Communication with specified customers can be blocked.

Embedded Document View

Viewing of saved invoices and credit notes is now displayed in a window integral to Platinum (it previously opened in your web browser).

  • A function to then open the document in your browser is there if you still need it.

HTML Content Preview

HTML content in any "general notes" blocks throughout Platinum will now be detected, giving the option to preview in a popup window.

Embedded Charts

Graphical charts have been added to the following areas of Platinum:

  • Stock Statistics.
  • Turnover Analysis.
  • Debt Breakdown.
  • Report Generator chart output type.

Prospecting future contact time

It is now possible to specify a time in addition to the date for when a prospect is due for a follow up contact.

The contacts due list is improved by the addition of contact due time and also future contact notes.

Consolidated Order File Designs

To make room for future improvements, new file designs have been introduced to hold both live and historic sales and purchase order information.

  • This update will involve a file conversion, which will run once only: the first time Platinum is used after this update. It may take some time, depending on how heavily the relevant area of the system is used, but will only be necessary the first time you use the software after this update.
